The INSPIRE Directive is transposed into Danish legislation through The Act on Infrastructure for Geographic Information, which came into force in May 2009.
The National Survey and Cadastre – which is a part of the Ministry of the Environment - is responsible for implementing the act and is heading up a number of initiatives in order to fulfil the requirements defined by the act.
The National Survey and Cadastre has established an INSPIRE coordination group with participation of the state and the local authorities.
The National Survey and Cadastre has also invited the private sector, interest groups etc. into an INSPIRE network.
